YSL advert analysis

This advert has the typical conventions of a perfume advert.

It has a top model and widley respected model in the fashion industry called Coco Rocha, she is a conventionally beautiful women but has a distinctive look unlike other girls which makes her memorable and therefore the advert memorable, tis makes her have equally both high fashion AND commercial appeal with the high fashion which women aspire to look like but comercial enough that woman can relate to her. Also using a women of her status will increase the popularity of the perfume and her following will be more aware of the perfume which they may not have been before makig it open to more potential costumers. The model's black suit shows that she is a sophisticated women with high power and status and will appeal to such women ambitions. The dark suit also contrats with the light backgorund and her skin. Her bright fuschia/scarlet lipstick gives her a sex appeal alonmg with the bare chest and cleavage that shows so the whole look and feel of Elle is for the "sexy, sophisticated woman".

To keep in theme with the model, the background appears to be full of backlights which looks as if it is set in a studio or a catwalk which makes the perfume look high fashion. This will appeal to any one who is interested in fashion and wants to feel more fashionable and high class. It lightens up the whole picture giving a fresh, bright look that illumintes the model propelling her into the focus of the viewer.

The typography is feminine, sleek and sophisticated in illuminited in front of the model so viewers know what the advert is for
